Plug Socket Tester For Verification Force Necessary To Withdraw The Plug For IEC60884-1 Figure18 Manual Operation
Standard:
IEC 60884-1 'Plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes – Part 1: General requirements' clause 22.1
Application:
It is used to test whether the maximum force of pulling the plug from the socket and the minimum force of pulling the single plug pin from the plug bush is in the range of the standard required. The clamping system is easy to operate.
Test sample:
Household or similar purpose sockets.
Features:
The top plate swivels up from a horizontal position to a vertical orientation and the clamping device can be rotated in the top plate. These features allow the device to be set up in many different configurations to meet different standard requirements. Standard plugs and weights are supplied to perform testing on sockets rated up to 16A.
Pin gauges and the appropriate weights for testing minimum withdrawal force are sold separately. The required dimension of the pin gauge needs to be specified by the customer.
Test plugs made from hardened steel with roughness not exceeding 0.8mm.
Top plate pivots from horizontal to vertical.
Parameters:
Test plug | Made of hardened steel, the test plugs and pins should be made according to specific country's plug and socket requirements. |
Weights | One set. Superposition can be achieved 100N, the force applied by added weight of 1/10 test force |
Operation method | By manual |
Maximum and minimum withdrawal force for plugs and socket-outlets:
Rated value | Number of poles | Pulling force(N)
The maximum measure gauge of multipole plug pin | The minimum measure gauge of Single plug pin | The maximum measure gauge of single plug pin
≤10A | 2 | 40 | 1.5 | 17 |
3 | 50 | |||
>10A~16A | 2 | 50 | 2 | 18 |
3 | 54 | |||
More than 3 | 70 | |||
>16A~32A | 2 | 80 | 3 | 27 |
3 | 80 | |||
More than 3 | 100 |
Test method:
Before first use, user should be familiar with the relevant standards for more effective and proper using the test apparatus and completing the test.
1. Verification of the maximum withdrawal force
a) The socket-outlet is fixed to the mounting plate A of an apparatus as shown in Figure 18, so that the axes of the socket-contacts are vertical and the entry holes for the pins of the plug face downwards. Make the test plug with the maximum size pins inserted into and withdrawn from the socket-outlet ten times.
b) The test plug is inserted into the socket, hang the weight on the test plug.
2. Verification of the minimum withdrawal force
a) Select the test pin gauge: Should select the appropriate minimum plug pin.
b) Use the degreasing agent to clear the plug grease. Such as: trichloroethylene or petroleum ether (Necessary protective measures should be needed).
c) The socket-outlet is fixed to the device shown in Figure 18. The test pin gauge is gently inserted into the insertion sleeve, make the axes of the socket-contacts are vertical and the entry holes for the pins of the plug face downwards.
3. Qualification Evaluation
1. Application of the maximum withdrawal force: The plug is separated from the socket, judged as qualified.
2. Application of the minimum withdrawal force: The gauge shall not fall from the contact assembly within 30 s, then judged as qualified.
